Got Questions – Black liberation theology is an offshoot of the South American liberation theology, which is largely humanistic, attempting to apply Christian theology to the plight of the poor. Black liberation theology focuses on Africans in general and African-Americans in particular being liberated from all forms of bondage and injustice, whether real or perceived, whether social, political, economic, or religious.
The goal of black liberation theology is to “make Christianity real for blacks.” The primary error in black liberation theology is its focus. Black liberation theology attempts to focus Christianity on liberation from social injustice in the here and now, rather than in the afterlife. Jesus taught the exact opposite: “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). Have blacks/Africans and especially African-Americans been treated unfairly, unjustly, and evilly in recent history? Absolutely! Should one of the results of the gospel be the end of racism, discrimination, prejudice, and inequality? Again, yes, absolutely (Galatians 3:28)! Is deliverance from social injustice a core principle of the gospel? No.
The message of the gospel is this: we are all infected with sin (Romans 3:23). We are all worthy of eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). Jesus died on the cross, taking the punishment that we deserve (2nd Corinthians 5:21; 1st John 2:2), providing for our salvation. Jesus was then resurrected, demonstrating that His death was indeed a sufficient payment for the sin penalty (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). If we place our trust in Jesus as Savior, all of our sins are forgiven, and we will be granted entrance into heaven after death (John 3:16). That is the gospel. That is to be our focus. That is the cure for what is truly plaguing humanity.
When a person receives Jesus as Savior, he/she is a new creation (2nd Corinthians 5:17), and the indwelling Holy Spirit begins the process of conforming him/her to the image of Christ (Romans 12:1-2). Only through this spiritual transformation can racism truly be conquered. Black liberation theology fails because it attacks the symptoms without truly addressing the disease. Sin/fallenness is the disease; racism is just one of the many symptoms. The message of the gospel is Jesus’ atoning sacrifice for our sins and the salvation that is therefore available through faith. The end of racism would be a result of people truly receiving Jesus as Savior, but racism is not specifically addressed in the gospel itself.
Because of its extreme over-emphasis of racial issues, a negative result of black liberation theology is that it tends to separate the black and white Christian communities, and this is completely unbiblical. Christ came to earth to unite all who believe in Him in one universal Church, His body, of which He is the head (Ephesians 1:22-23). Members of the Body of Christ share a common bond with all other Christians, regardless of background, race, or nationality. “There should be no division in the body, but . . . its parts should have equal concern for each other” (1st Corinthians 12:25). We are to be of one mind, having the mind of Christ, and have one goal, glorifying God by fulfilling Christ’s command to “go into all the world,” telling others about Him, preaching the good news of the gospel, and teaching others to observe His commandments (Matthew 28:19-20). Jesus reminds us that the two greatest commandments are to love God and love others as ourselves, regardless of race (Matthew 22:36-40).
According to the following info on Wikipedia, as well as other sources, he departed from the faith “citing personal stress and disillusionment.”
1st Timothy 4:1-3 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”
King left teaching and worked as a pastor at Total Grace Christian Center in DeKalb County, Georgia. He had been inspired to take up the Gospel when he was in high school; while King was recovering from injuries after an assault, King was regularly visited by his best friend’s father, who was a pastor. He recalled growing up without a father figure and said, “I just found myself so impacted by this man coming to visit me that I wanted to be like him.” In 2008, King founded a church in Atlanta called “Courageous Church“. Note that it says he was “inspired to take up the Gospel”! You do not “take up” the Gospel. You are CALLED BY GOD to PREACH the TRUE GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST!

Can you believe this insanity?
Incredibly enough, this heresy comes from somebody who claims to be a man of God. King, who says he was the victim of racism while growing up in Kentucky after finding God, left teaching and became a pastor at Total Grace Christian Center in DeKalb County, Georgia.

Jesus was a Jewish man born in Bethlehem and raised in the town of Nazareth, not Nigeria, and the indication made by an official representative of Black Lives Matter to destroy the statues that portray his real image is the most dangerous heresy to ever come out of America. BLM Activist Calls For Removal Of Murals & Statues That Depict Jesus as “White European”
News Punch – Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King has called for the removal of statues, murals and stained glass windows that depict Jesus as a “white European,” claiming they are a form of “gross white supremacy.”
The targeting of religious artwork comes as activist groups move beyond the tearing down of Confederate statues and removal of other historical monuments.
On Monday King tweeted: “Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down, they are a form of white supremacy. Always have been.“
RT reports: He also argued that all “murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down,” calling them “a gross form [of] white supremacy… tools of oppression [and] Racist propaganda.”
King is no fringe figure, either – the well-known racial justice activist rose to prominence through the Black Lives Matter movement and most recently served as a surrogate for Bernie Sanders, the Vermont senator who sought the Democrat presidential nomination.
His tweets came just a day after conservative pundits predicted the statue-smashing spree would come after Jesus.
For several weeks now, protesters across the US have targeted “racist” statues – starting with generals who fought for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, but quickly moving onto Christopher Columbus, President Ulysses S. Grant, and others, including Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, two of the Founding Fathers of the US.
Not even the monument to the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry – an African-American regiment that fought in the Civil War – was spared vandalism. Meanwhile, the Natural History Museum in New York has decided to remove the statue of 26th US President Theodore Roosevelt, saying that its depictions of Native Americans and Africans made it a “hurtful symbol of systemic racism.”
King’s tweet amounted to inciting federal hate crimes, argued conservative filmmaker Mike Cernovich, comparing it to the Ku Klux Klan’s terror campaign against churches.
